So, this week we spent a lot of the beginning of the week running around in doctors offices :( My companion has had some muscle pains for a few weeks, but we are now getting better! We also did service for a little old lady this week! She is having problems with her eyes, so we helped her clean her house a little bit in the areas she can't see :)
But more than anything, I want to tell you about a less active who is returning to church. Her name is Patricia, and she is just the cutest, purest, cleanest (and if you know my Mom or Nana, we are talking cleaner than them!!) But, the best word to describe her is PURE. We went to her house one day this week and she greeted us saying, "OH! I am so glad you came! I wanted to tell you! Last night, before I went to bed, I sang, I said a little prayer, and then I read my scriptures! Just like we do in the lessons!" My companion and I just about cried. Can you just imagine a cute little lady all alone in her house singing to herself, praying to our Heavenly Father and rejoicing in the first chapter of the book of Mormon. To a missionary, that is as pure as a person gets. It really made me think about how I can rejoice more with a song, prayer and scripture. Even though we do it every day all the time, I loved seeing the light that it brought in her life.
We also had the chance to have a lesson with a family that we found last week. The father of the family is really interested and he said he would pray to know if the things we are teaching are true. And he even stated that if he received an answer that would mean that he would have to make big changes in him and his family. I know and testify that this gospel is true. It can bring families for eternity. He was more that right when he said that because when we accept the gospel of Jesus Christ, we accept all his commandments and we promise to live them. May we all remember our savior Jesus Christ this week, and all that we promise to do at baptism. Not only going to church on Sundays and doing good to others. But, going the extra mile to live his teachings!
As you can see, I may be out here teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, but seriously I learn so much from everyone that we meet in the streets of Puerto Rico! (and may I say we meet some pretty interesting people....)
Anyway, Love you all! Thanks for all you do!
