Hola!
So, we are still working with the golden family! They are progressing so well! The mom, she is reading the book of Mormon, and they both have a lot of questions. Every time I go to their house, I just want to smile. I love being a missionary!
This week, I read a conference talk, the by Elder Oaks: The parable of the sower. I really just loved it as I read it, I felt my "roots" grow stronger in the gospel. In the talk, he talked about the different ways that we can plant ourselves. Obviously, the best way is in fertile soil. So, how do we have fertile soil? Well, by following God's commandments! One of the ways that I have felt my roots grow has been in my scripture study every day. I have been able to see this also work in the lives of those who read the Book of Mormon for the first time. It is wonderful because a light grows when we find the joy of the scriptures in our lives. I feel my studies every day in the gospel get richer and richer, as I plant my roots stronger and stronger.
I love you all, and I encourage you all to find ways to plant your spiritual roots in the gospel :) I don't have a lot of time, but have a wonderful week!
Love, Hermana VanKammen
