Hola to all my familia!
Well, here's the thing that happened. The "surprise" ended up being a success according to my companion and well, the other 2 latino elders that planned it. You see, they bought a beautiful cake, and then split it in two (because another elder also had his birthday) then they stood behind us for a picture and on the count of three they slammed our heads in the cake.... Yup, my face was COVERED.... and then, I decided to embrace it, and the other elder and I had a competition eating the cake. I couldn't do it, but he finished his half. So, I experienced a latino birthday tradition. WHOO! You all should be proud. Watch out when I get home for your birthdays because this just might happen to you :)
Anyway, this week we also had the General Women's conference! Which, was abolutely amazing. We had the opportunity to listen to an apostle, and the general women leaders of the church. Their words were truly inspired. If you did not have a chance to watch it, here's the link: https://www.lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2014/10?&lang=eng I can promise you that there is something in here for you (of our church or not).
There were many miracles this week (like always), but I just want to testify to you all how important the spirit is in our lives. The spirit is something that guides us, and witnesses to us the things that are true. As a missionary sharing the gospel of our savior Jesus Christ, I need this spirit with me at all times. When we are living according to the Lord's standards, we can feel it more strongly in our lives, and we have the ability to choose the right! May we all search for the spirit in our lives. How does the Lord guide your steps? How can we help others around us?
Thank you to all of you and your sweet letters. I love recieving them, and reading them. I know and can feel your love here on this tiny, beautiful island :)
Here are pictures from my birthday and the Luau last week :)
