HOLA HOLA!!!!
Well, the Lord loves me, he has given me more time in Trujillo Alto! I am so glad because we have been so blessed to see wonderful miracles espeacially with less actives. This week, we were able to go out with one of our less actives returning, and she visited with us all day! We were able to teach her about the lessons that we were going to teach, and the principles, and then we taught them with her! I could see that she really thought about these lessons, and how to help these people. A few of them less actives, just like she was. It strengthened her testimony to see the blessings that has come into her life since she has come back to church. That day, we had 5 lessons with her (and 3 before...btw that's a record of 8 lessons in one day! Probably a record for the mission considering we usually average a good 4 lessons per day...member missionary work is true :D )
Another lesson we had this week really taught me a lot about the function of the spirit. We have an investigator who grew up super Catholic, and she has a TON of questions. We have been teaching her according to the scriptures and, of course, the spirit. Now, she is able to recognize how the spirit works in her life, how the Lord answers her questions, and now, she comes up with a question, and before we can answer it, she answers it herself. It is not my companion and I who teach her, and help her understand the truth. It is the Spirit. The most important gift that the Lord has given us. She has 3 adorable children and we are working on bringing them to church! There was a scripture that I read this week that I just loved - Heleman 3:28 "Yea, thus we see that the gate of heaven is open unto all , even to those who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God." I love it because it shows the love our Heavenly Father has for us! He wants all his children to return to him! And I have the privilege to be an instrument in His hands. This is the work of the Lord! May each and every one of you know that He loves you personally. And the door is open to ALL :)
Love,
Hermana VanKammen
Ps This is a goat we found :) I's their pet!
and our district "funeral" for those ending their mission!
