HOLA HOLA!!!
Woah, so, this week, I went to this little teeny tiny beautiful island called Culebra! You can see pictures on the internet :) It has the second most beautiful beach in the world....I wasn't able to get over there. BUT, I did take an hour long ferry ride out to the island! Since it was for an exchange, I was with a companion from Guatemala for the day! We met some super awesome people :) One was a family! A mom, dad, and two kids. The kids really like church, and they like the book of mormon. As we talked about baptism, and the restored authority of God, I saw a change in them. By the end, they accepted the invitation to pray if this authority really was restored in the earth. The next morning, we got to go running around the island, and we took pictures of the beautiful ocean! I havn't seen the ocean in a really long time. We don't see it too much here in Trujillo Alto :( But Puerto Rico is beautiful nonetheless.
I would like to share a video with you all http://www.mormon.org/easter open this link and watch the video Because He Lives. We, as missionaries are sharing it with EVERYONE! Whenever we see someone with one of those cool smartphones (that have really gotten super fancy just in the last year by the way) we ask them to look up this video and watch it right on the spot! I can truly testify that Jesus Christ LIVES! He is here in every moment! We have the opportunity now to learn how we can use him, and how we can get closer to him!
Super cool experience while contacting yesterday: We went out with that member again who likes to show us to her neighbors, and well, there was a bunch of teenagers standing outside. Well, since we're missionaries we went and talked to them! We ended up talking with them for a good 45 minutes, showed them the video and shared our message of the restored gospel. They had some SUPER awesome questions about their purpose here in this life. We said that we could come back and teach them :) We now have an appt to go back, AND they asked for the times over and over again for the conference just to make sure they got it right so they can go. They are so prepared to hear the gospel, and they have so many great questions, so we are SO excited to share with them this week!
Which brings me to my next point CONFERENCE!!!! I hope you all enjoyed the women's conference this past saturday....we will watch it in between the general conference :) This week is General conference: Saturday and Sunday. I hope all of you can take out 2 hours to watch AT LEAST one of the sessions. We have the great blessing to have a living prophet and apostles who lead and guide the church of Jesus Christ. They have the special authority to give us the guidance we need. I know that if you have a question, about the church, life, or whatever, and you watch this conference with that question in mind, it will be answered. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of our day, and you can know too, by prayer and if you watch this conference. If you have a doubt, curiosity, or want to know what we believe: WATCH THIS CONFERENCE! You can go to lds.org to listen and watch :)
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL week!
Love,
Hermana VanKammen
