Hola Familia y Amigos!
This past week was super awesome! Remember that little girl I said we were teaching? Well, she took the important step of baptism this past Sunday! We were so excited for her. As missionaries, that is the ultimate goal for the people we teach. But, it reminds me of a scripture my mission president shared with us... I might have already shared this with you...: Mosiah 26:22-24 in the Book of Mormon:
22 For behold, this is my church ; whosoever is baptized shall be baptized unto repentance. And whomsoever ye receive shall believe in myname; and him will I freely forgive . 23 For it is I that taketh upon me the sins of the world; for it is I that hath created them; and it is I that granteth unto him that believeth unto theend a place at my right hand.
24 For behold, in my name are they called; and if they know me they shall come forth, and shall have a place eternally at my right hand.
When we enter baptism, we are promised a place at the right hand of God. However, that is not all. We also have to endure to the end continually to honor that covenant (or promise) we make. In the Book of Mormon, this time in 2 Nephi 31:20 it says,
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men.Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternallife.
What a great promise this is. To live eternally with our Heavenly Father. I learned a lot about this this week. Especially in my studies of humility. What do we have to do to constantly humble ourselves so that we can change and stay on the straight and narrow path, honoring this covenant of God? None of us are perfect, but we can all reach perfection if we endure to the end! I want you all to know that I testify that this is the true church of God. I Testify and many others can bear witness of the truths of this gospel. I am reminded of this quote by President Thomas S. Monson in the last general conference: "May we all try to be a little better, Stand a little Taller". Every day I try to be a little better, and stand a little taller. You learn that a lot here on the mission. How to shape your life to the will of God so that we all can stand at the right hand of God :)
Thanks for all your love and support!
Love,
