Hola familia y amigos!
So, it has been oddly cool outside this last week, but it was very refreshing. I can definitely tell that I am getting used to this weather because 80 degrees feels cold....We'll just hope that the next winter is mild out there in Utah :)
Anywho, Due to some dermatology problems my companion has, she has to use an umbrella because she can't be in the sun a lot. Well, with colder weather comes wind, and in just one week my companion broke 3 umbrellas! It was super funny to watch her walk around with a broken umbrella. That was the big joke of the week... :)
Transfers came and went, I am still here with my companion for another 6 weeks! Round two to tear up Trujillo Alto, San Juan!
But, despite those technical problems we found SO MANY MIRACLES! Shout out to Cristina's family because I definitely got to see her grandma! Also, we found a ton of people this week! Biggest finding moment of my mission went as followed: My companion and I are just walking along the road when a guy stops by in his car. He shouts to us and is like, "Hey! Are you guys friends with those boys? (meaning the Elders, the male missionaries who people identify as "the boys in white shirts and ties") And we were like, yeah, we are missionaries of that church. Well, he asked us when church was, and we were like church is every Sunday and you are welcome! Well, he wanted to go to church, but he couldn't come Sunday...but, in the moment I immediately thought about a devotional we were going to have on Friday which we invited him to. We ended up exchanging numbers and he said he would try to come. Friday morning came and I thought about that random guy we found on the street but I didn't know if he would actually come...well, HE CALLED! He called that morning verifying the activity, and HE CAME! Our president of our mission gave an awesome speech on who we are, and why we as missioanries are here. This guy really liked it, so the Elders are now teaching him :) I really gained such a great testimony that there are people searching for something in their life, but they just don't know where to find it. But, that is why we're here! To help those people find a happiness and peace in their life that can fill up this feeling. I know our Heavenly Father helps his children to be in the right place at the right time so that we can find what we need :)
Also, another experience...my companion and I were just contacting people along the street when we came to a house with a man and his grandma. We talked to him, but then didn't think he was super interested, but had potential to listen to our message. We left him with a card, and an invitation to visit the church website. As we walked away, my companion expressed that she wanted to talk to him, but I guess we just miss-communicated with eachother and felt that neither of us felt that he would really be interested. So, listening to the spirit, we decided we needed to walk up again, and ask if we could share more of our message. It ended up being a super spiritual lesson, and he had met with missionaries before, but didn't feel he needed it. By the end of the lesson he committed to pray and ask God if our message was true and if there is really a living prophet on the earth. He was super cool, and I sincerely hope he progresses! The spirit works! When we follow the spirit, we find people who are prepared!
I hope you all had an awesome week, and I hope you all continue to have an awesome week!
Love you all!
