Hola everyone!
Well, I am here in a new area now! Trujillo Alto! It's by San Juan, and a tiny part of our area covers San Juan :) My comapnion is awesome, Hermana Gawrych is from Utah, and she goes home in about 3 months! So, she will probably finish her mission with me here. The ward is great, the area is great, and we have some great people to teach!
As far as the funny moments, well, they just keep coming. I have officially fallen in EVERY area I have served....this time, it only took me 2 days to fall in this area. Nothing serious, just tripped over my feet a little bit. We also had an exchage where we go and work with other missionaries in different areas. This week we were in Fajardo for a day. It's a cute little boat town! We got to meet the bishop and his wife and family, and they made us Lasagna! yummm!!!
I also got to try Gyrros for the first time. It's like a flat bread taco...you put meat in it, and lettuce, tomato and whatever else you want in it. There are a ton of little food shacks around Puerto Rico. People just set up their little business on the side of the road and sell stuff. A lot of times it's limbers, or frappees, or fried food, but it's great for the missionaries!
This week, we found a ton of people just waiting for the gospel. We found a man who's son died at birth, and we testified of the plan of salvation to him. I know that our families are eternal. And, that babies are perfect! So, it is our motivation to strive to be perfect so that we can return to live with them in God's kingdom!
As a sister trainer, I'm kind of like a zone leader for sisters. We make sure all the sisters in our zone are all okay, and if they need anything, we help them. There are 6 companionships of sisters in our zone, which is awesome! We get to do exchanges with sisters every week, and we get to learn from the other sisters :) This week, I was in a cute little boat town with the sisters in Fajardo :) You can look it up in a map.
My time is a little short, but I love you all! Thanks for all your love and support!
Love,
Hermana VanKammen
