Hola a Todos!
So, last monday, we went to CAVES! It was a sisters zone activity, and Sister Boucher (president's wife) and his daughters came with us! We had a little gift exchange and then got our gear on! We got to wear the hard hats, and climb down into the caves. At the end of one of the caves there is a beautiful opening that shows Puerto Rico for miles! So, it was nice to leave our area, and see some of Puerto Rico's beautiful creations :)
Every week is filled with miracles, miracles, and more miracles. But, this week I really felt that the Lord was trying to teach me something. You see, as a missionary, we have goals that we want to accomplish. Well, we are trying to prepare Puerto Rico for a temple, so we are really working super hard to accomplish these goals. This week I had no clue how we were going to accomplish these goals. It seemed like there was no way. But, I realized, "I'm a missionary! The Lord's hand is in this work!" Well, I decided to put my faith right in His work, and trusted that if we could do our part, he would make up the rest. And the blessings came in ABUNDANCE! We were able to help so many people come back to church and start this new year. I know that if we put in our faith, the Lord provides!
We also, had a few really super awesome spiritual experiences in lessons. We found a woman one day, and she didn't really wanted to listen to us, but, one day we saw her again, and this time, she invited us in and gave us dinner. Well, because we are missionaries, and we like to share the gospel, we ended up sharing with her while we were eating our food. We showed her the He is the Gift video and talked about Jesus Christ and his gospel. Well, This week, we needed to return a plastic bowl she gave us with leftover food, and when she invited us in again, she told us how much she missed us. She said that when she left, she felt so good. And her son told her that he felt we were sent from God to share our message, and he knew our message was from God. It was crazy! We didn't think that we left a huge impression on her because she is super into her own religion, but we offered her a message of Jesus Christ, and his restored gospel, and that can leave a strong impression on someone!
This week, we have a mini missionary serving with me and my companion for the week. Her name is Hermana Zayas, and she's from here in Puerto Rico. She is 17 and is preparing for the mission. We are so excited, to serve with her this week!
...oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! We celebrated by having dinner at a members house :)
