Hola A TODOS!
This week was probably one of the best weeks in my mission. Why you ask? Well, first, it was CHRISTMAS! Best day of the year where missionaries get fed to the top AND get to talk to their families. Second, we had the wonderful opportunity to see one of our investigators enter the waters of Baptism on Saturday: Meet Adriana. She is awesome! She has been meeting with the missionaries for about a year now, and has had a lot of struggles in her life. However, she realized, that this gospel was the only thing that would improve her life. After her baptism we asked her how she felt. All she could say was, "I feel a lot of peace" I can promise you that if you listen to what the missionaries say, you will find peace. There is a special spirit in the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In it, you can find the answers to all your questions just like Adrianna learned.
Christmas here in Puerto Rico is a FESTIVAL all night. So, we only got to enjoy a little bit of it until 9:30 (curfew for us missionaries) but it was still great! We got to go to the houses of some members and investigators, and celebrate this time to be together as a family. We got to eat a lot of Rice and Beans, and a lot of Lechon (Pig), and a lot of Pavo (Turkey)! I was definitely stuffed by the end of this week! As a missionary, we don't have a lot, because, well, our house is the streets because we are ALWAYS walking. However, we did have a little tiny tree (thank you Grandma!) that we put out Christmas Eve. We put all the Christmas presents under our tiny beautiful little Christmas tree, and our stocking so santa could come with little goodies! We also decorated our gate outside of our apartment with a little wreath as you can see and took Christmas pictures.
This past monday, we got to eat a Christmas dinner with the president of our mission, and his family! Our president's daughters sang for us, and we had a little spiritual thought/devotional. So, it was a beautiful week! I hope all of you had a WONDERFUL Christmas, and I hope you all enjoy the festivities of New Years too!
Con Mucho Amor,
Hermana VanKammen
