So, this week I experienced new food! First: Bacalau I guess it's oyster.... It was a little fishy, but not bad. We had it with Yuca, Yautia y malanga....which basically are like potatoes but more concentrated. Also, I tried Pollo Pinchos! Basically chicken on a stick with BBQ sauce. SO GOOD! I am also going to learn how to cook like a Puerto Rican (aka rice and beans and soup with chicken).
So, there was a day that we walked a TON, and we walked all around Toa Baja. And as we walked, we found a friend! It was a little dog that followed us around literally the whole day. And, when we stopped at a house, he waited for us, and then walked with us again. Literally the funniest thing ever. He just wouldn't leave, so we decided to share the gospel with him :)
Also. We got wet. Again. Like, really wet. That's the thing about puerto Rico. I love it, but it rains every day. And you never know when. And sometimes I forget my umbrella. I will attatch a picture.
This week the title is "Open Your Mouth!" There is a part in Preach My Gospel (basically like the manual that we use as missionaries) that talks about how to find people to teach, and that means talking to EVERYONE! If we don't talk to them, how are we going to know if they are going to listen to our message or not? I thought a lot about that this week as I did I tried to open my mouth more. And guess what? We found people! We found people and were able to share our message with people who were willing to listen. The message of Jesus Christ is a message that brings joy into your life if you just listen. It is a message that will give us blessings in abundance. I saw that this week. I saw a light in every person we talked to as we shared more about Jesus Christ. There is a power within this message. It a light that each and everyone of us have. I hope you all can find that light in yourself. Take some time to look at lds.org this week. It is a website that shares messages about Jesus Christ and about our message. I promise you that each and every one of you will find something to apply to your life!
I love you all! Stay safe!
Look at this scripture. My companion and I found it when we were singing "Where can I turn for Peace" this morning: John 16:33
